How to manage snapshots after update 2.1.0

Post by rferebee »

Good morning,

After the 2.1.0 update, the Snapshots & Maintenance pages have been updated and I'm not quite sure how to manage my snapshots anymore.

Prior to the update we would retain the most current snapshot and only certain others. It was much easier to manage prior to the update. Now it's like everything is expanded into individual indexes and the dates are all over the place.

Is it possible to switch back to the old version of the snapshot management screen? Or, do you have any documentation on managing snapshots with the new version of the application? We don't have unlimited storage space, so I need to be able to manage these accordingly.

Thank you.

The Maintenance And Repository Settings was spun off into a separate tab. When you go to Snapshots & Maintenance, there are two tabs immediately above the index list. That should be the settings page that you're looking for.

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm not looking for the page. I know where it is.

I'm asking, now with all the changes, how do I manage it like I did before? Everything is different.

All the snapshots are expanded into individual indexes and it looks like I cannot delete an entire snapshot like I could before without having to click on 20+ check boxes.

For example, if I want to delete the snapshots that were taken on Friday and Saturday night, would I just delete the two items I have highlighted in the screenshot below? It's strange because some of my older snapshots are expanded like the from last night so they show all the indexes contained within them, but some others are collapsed.

I think I see what you're saying now. So the list of indexes shown in your snapshot repository is a list of indexes that are backed up in snapshots. To actually delete a snapshot, do not click any boxes in the index list. Just go to the bottom right of the list, and click Delete Snapshots. That will bring up a list of snapshots that you can delete. Choose the snapshots for the dates that you wish to delete, and click Delete Snapshot.

Does that process fit what you're trying to do?
