regarding Nagioxi Secondary interface not working

Dear Team

i have running nagios in centos platform , i have added Secondary NIC and have configured the ip address but unable to ping the secondary ip from outside the gateway. Please note i can ping the secondary ip from the gateway but after that not able to ping.

This is something you would need to contact your networking team about, this would not be part of Nagios XI

there is no issue with network side as while using multi interface in nagios have issue which have demonstrated with different system in windows it working hence its not related with any network side issue. please let me know whether nagios doesn't have the capability to support multi interface ?

Nagios can use all Network Interfaces on the server. It uses standard Linux networking, and doesn't have any special requirements.

The reason I mentioned it was a networking problem was because you said this

This leads me to believe that either you are not using a publicly routable IP, e.g. other destinations do not know how to reach this IP address to get to the gateway so it can be routed..

If you try to traceroute from a remote machine to this IP, does it get to the Gateway?

it use as publically routed ip and not seen any issue related to routing side as other server in same gateway able to reach from destination range. While tracing the ip it can reachable till the gateway after that time out showing.

This sounds like the gateway isn't routing the traffic correctly then.

other windows server in same lan segment can ping and communicate from outside hence its not related to routing issues

Are the netmasks set correctly on all the servers/routers involved?

If one machine can communicate and one cannot, that seems to be the definition of a networking/routing related problem.

subnet mask are correct as it use /24 and gateway is router , same lan segement device can communicate to same destination but nagios cannot with secondary interface. i using nagios xi vmware platform and also i tried from different destination even my local network outside the gateway cannot ping to the secondary interface
