Okay the files and permissions look correct. In Nagios XI, can you go to Admin -> SNMP Trap Interface. Are there any traps showing up under Received Traps for this Windows machine?

If you run cat /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/corelog.newobjects do you see traps from the Windows machine?

Hi Team,

We are using the standard nagios version, so there is nothing we can see under Admin/SNMP Trap Interface.

Please see the requested output below.

[root@nagios ~]# cat /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/corelog.newobjects
a:1:{s:8:"somehost";a:2:{s:9:"last_seen";i:1569520582;s:8:"services";a:1:{s:11:"someservice";i:1569520582;}}}
[root@nagios ~]#

Thanks

All of that seems correct. Can you try removing and re-creating the SNMP trap service for that host and see if it picks up the trap?

What if you go to Admin -> Monitoring Config -> Unconfigured Objects

Do you see any objects there?

What do you have set for Admin > Unconfigured Objects > Auto Configure Settings? (please attach a screenshot).

What about for Admin > Performance Settings > Subsystem > Enable Listener For Unconfigured Objects?

Code: Select all

cat /etc/cron.d/nagiosxi
See anything in

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagiosxi/var/feedproc.log
Does this output any errors?

Code: Select all

su - nagios
/usr/bin/php /usr/local/nagiosxi/cron/feedproc.php

The cannot find module messages means that there is a missing MIB file.
Does the /usr/share/snmp/mibs/SNMP-FRAMEWORK-MIB.txt exist of the server?

I attached a new copy to the post you can use to upload to the server.
Upload it to the Nagios server and see if the traps show up in the unconfigures objects menu.

If not, it could be another corrupt or missing MIB file so I would need to see the SNMP configuration files and the MIB files from the server so can you run the following 3 commands as root.

Code: Select all

tar cvfz /tmp/snmp.tgz /etc/snmp/*
tar cvfz /tmp/sharesnmp.tgz /usr/share/snmp/mibs/* --dereference
tar cvfz /tmp/snmplog.tgz /var/log/snmptt/*
Then post these 3 files so we can check the settings and the MIB files for any errors.

Code: Select all

/tmp/snmp.tgz
/tmp/sharesnmp.tgz
/tmp/snmplog.tgz
Also, what is the make and model number of the device that is sending the traps?
