Monitor 10G irb interfaces on Juniper MX960

Post by javid »

Wondering if we have the capability to monitor 10G irb interfaces. Displaying 1G and no way to change. We're monitoring 10G ae interfaces on Juniper equipment without any issues. Nagios XI 5.6.6

That seems strange. Can you post the command that you are using to check these ports? If you can, please post one of the commands that is reporting 1Gb, and one that is reporting the proper speed.

Using the below commands for both - an irb interface that's not reporting higher than 1Gb and an ae that's reporting correct speeds.

$USER1$/check_rrdtraf -f /var/lib/mrtg/$ARG1$ -w $ARG2$ -c $ARG3$ -l $ARG4$

Are there any configuration options set for either of the ports?

Can you send in your system profile? If you go to Admin -> System Profile -> Download Profile, that will get us a bunch of information that we can look at. If you could just PM the file to me, I'll take a look and see if I can find out what's going on from that.

Okay, I've got your profile and I started looking through it. It looks like you monitor a number of switches. Could you give me the IP and port numbers of the services that are not displaying the correct data?

Try setting the Default Port Speed on the first page to 10000 and see if those show differently then.

Let us know the results.

I've sent you a PM with a config file and instructions. Give that a shot, and let me know the results.
