Dashboards and reports not loading
Dashboards and reports not loading
I just setup Nagios log server. I have version 2.1.2 running. We just configured two sources to send logs to the server. Nagios log server is reporting that both of these sources are sending logs to the system. When I click on the dashboard icon or reports all I see is a spinning square that looks like something is trying to load. The screen never progresses beyond this point. Before I setup log sources these pages would load.
Re: Dashboards and reports not loading
What were the two sources that were setup? What kind of log files are they sending, and are they sending to one of the default Inputs?

Re: Dashboards and reports not loading
The one source is a Palo Alto firewall and the other is an ssl vpn server. Both are sending to the standard input port 5544.
Re: Dashboards and reports not loading
Let's try accessing the Dashboards another way. From the Home screen, in the upper right just put an asterisk in the Search Logs field, and hit enter. Let's see if it loads that way.
If it doesn't load, we can also use this to try to exclude those other two hosts one by one to see if one is the culprit. You would put host: <>IPAddress and hit enter. See if the dashboards load with one or the other excluded from the list.

Re: Dashboards and reports not loading
The dashboard loads when I use the first method you described with the asterisk in the search field. Incidentally I can now access the dashboard when click the link. I also can access the logs of the sources through reports now as well. I am not sure what has happened but none of this was working yesterday.
Re: Dashboards and reports not loading
That's strange. I wonder if it was just trying to work through something. If you're good with where it's at right now, we can close this thread. We might be able to see some errors in the profile. You can get that from Admin -> System Status -> Download System Profile.

I have gone ahead and attached the system profile.

Re: Dashboards and reports not loading
I'm not seeing anything in the profile that suggests that there was a problem. I would say we should go about using Log Server the way you need to use it, and see if this issue creeps up again. If it does, get a system profile right away, note the time that it happened, and we'll see if we can pin the issue down.

Re: Dashboards and reports not loading
Sounds good. If it happens again I will get everything that you suggested.
Re: Dashboards and reports not loading
Okay, I will close this thread, but go ahead and open a new one if the issue comes up again.
