NCPA Passive Checks SSL issue

Post by bakker_ca »

Hello,

I have core version 4.4.5 installed. For any of my windows servers, I get the error below for monitoring windows servers using NCPA 1.8.1

UNKNOWN: An error occured connecting to API. (Connection error: '[SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed (_ssl.c:727)')

This error shows up for monitoring CPU, memory, etc.

It is installed on Ubuntu 18.04. I have it installed also on Ubuntu 14.04 and it works. I am looking to migrate to an updated version of Ubuntu. I suspect this is a Ubuntu issue but I am not sure. I am not very knowledgeable on Linux and get by enough to configure Nagios.

The PC 14.04 is on is failing so I need to move it.

Thanks

That's a pretty old version of NCPA. Is that on Windows Server 2003? If it's on Server 2008 or newer, I would recommend just upgrading NCPA and trying again.

The title says these are passive checks. Would active checks be a possibility here, just to see if they work?

I installed the latest version I found, 2.2.0 but it did not help.

I got fed up trying to find the solution and just used 14.04 again of Ubuntu.

Thanks anyway
