Auth File Method - Not Working

Post by mamir »

Hello Support,

I tried to setup the Auth File Method for my Nagios Xi on Prem. See the attachments, Messages.

Please, help me resolve and also I need to have this file encrypted and secure as for security. Thanks!

It's the same as your post here
https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... 89#p296089

If the user you are using either via the username/password field or the auth file doesn't have the appropriate permissions you are not going to get the Access Denied like you are.

Please make sure you have completed every step in this document for the server and the user you are using

Hello Support,

Its not permission, I manually typed the same username and password in the Authinfo the same username password works, however when I put the same exact username and password into the Auth File it gives me that error, I have attached previously.

See Attached the Authenication file. I just created now again. Also, thats how its format as below.

username=test.account
password=Welcome12345678!

When running the wizard you have

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagios/etc/authorization.txt

but your screenshot shows

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagiosxi/etc/wmi_auth.txt

You realize those are different directories correct?

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagios/etc
vs

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagiosxi/etc
Before we setup any remote session I'm going to need you to open a ticket at
https://support.nagios.com/tickets/

Then you can reference this thread for the support tech.

Please give as much detail as possible in creating the ticket
