Can I configure the mail command for notifications?

Hi,
I have checked the configuration files and saw two ways that Nagios sends emails for notification.

Is there a way to add a 3rd method I can fully customize?
If yes, how, where? Where do I define it and in which format?
That email command should be used to send SMS notifications via an SMS gateway.
We are limited to send the content of the message in the Subject field, not the body.
That's why I want to be able to add a 3rd way to send notifications.

In the commands.cfg, you already get the notifiy-host-by-email command.
I'd like to use a notify-host-by-sms command. But then how do I trigger it?
