Hi,
I've imported a new user from our AD, and I would like to restrict this user (developer) to a specific host. So I create a new host list with this host, and I edited this user with Host Visibility to this Host List. When I login with this user I don't get any data in my Dashboard. Have I missed something? We're on NLS version 2.1.3.

When I select the NLS itself, it works, but with any other host it shows no data in the Dashboards.

I haven't been able to reproduce the issue in Nagios Log Server 2.1.3. Permissions / Host Lists worked for me as expected.
Is there any data (logs), coming in from this host? Can other (admin) users see the data? Can you show us screenshots of "Host Lists" page (Admin > Management > Host List Management), and the "Edit User" page (Admin > Management > User Management > Edit > Permissions)
Also, log in as your user, click on "Dashboards", then click on the "host" link on the left, and show us a screenshot of this page as well.

There is data coming in from this host as all users with Admin access can view the logs just fine.

On the 'Dashboards' page there does not seem to be a 'host' link. It is only showing the Default Dashboard (or another dashboard when clicked). Could you clarify what page you mean exactly?

Sure. First, log in as "test7tim", and click on the "Dashboards" menu on top.On the 'Dashboards' page there does not seem to be a 'host' link. It is only showing the Default Dashboard (or another dashboard when clicked). Could you clarify what page you mean exactly?
Example: Click on the "host" link on the left (under "ALL EVENTS"), and show a screenshot of the page.
Example: You should be able to see the host that is in the whitelist. In my case, this is my "test" host 192.168.18.201.

Under Dashboards > Host I see nothing (see attached image). In the Host List that is applied to the user I see the allowed server as:
hostname ()
Could it be related to the fact it does not have a IP address associated with the hostname?

The only thing I can think of that could cause this issue is having a filter set up on your default dashboard. For example, if your user set up a filter on the default dashboard to see ONLY NLS itself, then saved the dashboard, he wouldn't see anything else. Normally, you may not be able to see the filter, unless you click on the "FILTERING" button to expand it.

No additional FILTERING is applied besides the 'last 24 hour' filtering. We will open a support ticket.
