Hi Team,
We get regular issues with a some of the windows hosts where the NSClient service gets stopped or throws an error stating that port 5666 is blocked.
This usually gets fixed if we restart the service but sometimes it resolved only after reinstalling the client.
This issue keeps repeating for this hosts again after a week.
Can someone please help in finding out what the root cause is for this issue?
Thank you,
Rebecca Murray
NSClient Services Stopping
Re: NSClient Services Stopping
This one may require a deeper dive into NSClient than we can provide. But let's see if we can make a little progress on the issue.
How reliable is this failure? You say it happens after a week. Does it happen down to the day, down to the hour, or is it just about a week later this happens again?
Are there any errors in the Event Log at any point in all of this? When the service stops, when you restart the service and it fails, and when you reinstall the agent?
Can you think of anything linking the affected Windows servers, like a particular AD policy?
