all other applications stopped working after installing nrpe

all my other very important application on my remote server have stopped working after installing nrpe agent, am not sure what the agent does to existing applications but it has everything on my system unresponsive, i have even uninstalled the agent but still no results, if someone can help me asap i would really appreciate
