Host Status Totals or Service Status Totals empty

Post by Zippyduda »

I am getting some strange behaviour when switching between pages on Nagios.

When I am on page with either Hosts or Services, then click on any of the links under Host Status Totals or Service Status Totals:
Capture.PNG
Capture.PNG (7.42 KiB) Viewed 1810 times
So Up, Down, Unreachable, Pending, All Problems or All Types

When the page changes to the other pages they either show a blank results list or a different page:

I have to click Hosts or Services on the left navigation menu then the Up, Down, Unreachable, Pending, All Problems or All Types for it to load properly.

Is this normal behaviour or is something wrong with my setup?

The total numbers (your first image) when you click on them are additive Filters, which add on to the previous filters.

As you click on each it adds to the filters, in the bottom image you see the "Display filters:" are
Host Status Type: Down
Service status: OK
this means the page is only going to display services that are in an OK state AND the host is DOWN.

It is quite common that you would not have any services that are OK if the hosts are DOWN

Ah I see, thank you for confirming that.

I saw that and assumed that was the case, but wanted to make sure I wasn't going mad as I couldn't find anyone on Google with the same "issue".

Thanks Scott.

I assume there is no way to change this behaviour so they are just straight links? No worries if not :)
