Invalid Token error causing console session to kick me out

Post by rferebee »

I've been dealing with an issue for quite some time, I think it started after updating our environment to version 2.1.1. We're now on version 2.1.4 and are still experiencing the problem.

Basically what seems to be happening is my console sessions will randomly "time out" and force me to log back in. The only indication that something is wrong is the Yellow triangle icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. When I see that, the very next item I click on forces me back to the login page. When I log back in, the console takes me either to the item I clicked on or back to the previous page I was on.

Both the error and access logs look normal to me. We have plenty of space on each node in our cluster. Not sure what's causing it.

See attached picture of error message.

Hi @rferebee,

Can you send us the system profile to review? Let us know how you're logging into NLS ( local account or LDAP/AD)?

Also, it's worth trying to generate a new access key and test again. Click on your username in the upper right to generate a new key and test again.

Thanks.

PM sent. We're using LDAP/Active Directory authentication.

I've generated a new API key for my account, I'll keep an eye on it and let you know that makes any difference.

Thank you.

Unfortunately, resetting my API key did not work. The behavior persists.

Hello,

Can you create or log in with a local account to verify if this is AD related issue or not? In other words, do you still get kicked out of the session from a local account?

If it's AD related, we will want to enable the AD logging and check the Apache logs.

The issue does not seem to affect local accounts.

I'll begin the AD/LDAP troubleshooting and keep you posted.

Hi @rferebee,

Thank you. I've raised this issue with our development team, and they are going to try and replicate the issue here as well. Next time you get the error, please open the developer tools in Chrome and post a screenshot of the Network tab for us to review as well. Thanks.

So, I just enabled the logging per the instructions and the issue occurred while logging was enabled, I am not seeing anything of note listed in the 'error_log' file.

I'll run the Chrome dev tools now and let you know if I see anything.

Thank you.

I sent a PM to @benjaminsmith with an export of the Chrome network logger.

Also see screenshot of network logger running when issue occurred.
