Logstash and Elastic Versions EOS

Post by jeepers »

Does Log Server work with recent versions of Elasticsearch and Logstash that are not well beyond their EOS dates?

In Use, installed on Cent7:

Elastic v 1.7.6
Logstash - 2.4.1

NLS requires the versions of logstash and elasticsearch that it comes with and installs. It will not work properly if either are upgraded on the machine.

Are there any plans to implement modern versions of those software packages in the near future?

The versions it uses are suited for a majority of the things that are expected of NLS so there are no plans to upgrade them in the near term. That said, the versions of Elasticseach and Logstash NLS uses have been updated in the past so it's not entirely unforeseeable that another upgrade may happen.
