error restarting nagios

Receiving an error trying to restart Nagios after modifying a cfg file
I am in the dir ETC/INIT.D and use the command "Nagios restart"

Get the following error:
Error; Cannot open main configuration file '/etc/init.d/restart' for reading
warning: Cannot open log file '/var/lib/Nagios/Nagios.log' for writing
Nagios 3.0.6 starting...
Warning: Cannot open log file '/var/lib/Nagios/Nagios.log' for writing
Bailing out due to one or more errors encountered in the configuration files.
