Upgrade OVA Linux Kernel in the current deployment

Post by rmazzei »

I use NagiosXI OVA CentOS release 6.7 (Final) and I would like to know if there is a procedure to upgrade CentOS version of this OVA without deploying a new server.

Thanks.

I wouldn't recommend it because our backup/restore processes makes it pretty easy to migrate to a new system and there is no official process for upgrading on the same system.

Even if you succeed you would still need to do this as well:

But you would still need to run the restore_repair script (from the restore guide) too because you are changing OS versions.
