NCPA on HP-UX

Post by spoole »

I am unable to confirm/deny that the NCPA agents does or does not run on HP-UX. Has anyone got this to work? If so, what did you do and what O/S version did it work on? Thanks

Hi @spoole,

Currently, we do not have an NCPA build for HP-UX. The best option is to use NRPE and compile this from the source. While we don't have the exact steps for this operating system, it can be done if you install the necessary prerequisites.

Here are the instructions for installing NRPE from source:

@benjaminsmith, Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately we try to only use passive monitoring and NRPE does not support that. What is involved in compiling NCPA on HP-UX, is it even possible. I am new to this so forgive the stupid questions :)

Hi,

No problem. Any question is a good question. NCPA is mostly python, we have some instructions on building NCPA on the following page you can use as a reference.

Take a look and let me know if the pre-requisites would be available on HP-UX.
