New or Clone Users and Dashboard Features Request

Hello all,

A colleague and I have been coming up with a list of features we'd love to see added to Nagios XI. What would be the best way to provide them to you? Each as an individual request to be able to track them individiually? Or all at once?

For example, with this subject, it all has to do with adding a new user (or cloning an existing user, assigning them to contact groups during the user creation, as well as deploying contact group dashboards to them.

Currently when creating/cloning new users, we are given the option to "Create as Monitoring Contact". We would like to be able to select which Contact Groups to add them to, as well as to create a new Contact Group if they are the first person to be in that group.

During the user creation, we would also like the option to deploy dashboards (all/some) to the new user.

Currently we have to create the user, then take the additinal steps of assigning the user to Contact Groups and then manually deploy dashboards to that user.

In addition to that, we would like there to be dashboard deployment permission for users in a contact group. IE, "User may deploy dashboards to other users in the same contact group."

Along the same line, when an existing user creates a dashboard, we would like to give them the option to ddeploy that dashboard to some/all of their contact group(s) and/or grant permissions to all/some members of the contact group(s) to modify that dashboard and deploy it to some/all users in the same contact group(s). Leaving the original author of the dashboard their own copy. IE, "dashboard_name.userID1.YYYYMMDD". If another user modifies it, it would be named "dashboard.userID2.yyyymmdd" (or something unique". The second person who modifies the dashboard can save it , and deploy it to his contact group(s) under a new dashboard name, or ask the original author to review/edit approve/deploy the changes as the original dashboard name.

Have you tried using Templates or the Bulk Modification Tool?

We can certainly put that through as a feature request. I will convey that request to our developers.
