Post by RIDS_I2MP »

Hi Team,

Please let us know if Port monitoring on Virtual Network Gateways is possible via Nagios XI ?

If yes, what all details are required to get this setup.

If the virtual network gateway supports SNMP you can probably use the Router/Switch Wizard to set up checks that monitor port status. See https://library.nagios.com/library/prod ... nagios-xi/.

Hi Team,
We have enabled the SNMP string on network gateways to monitor the ports.
We are still facing issues in configuring the same as port details are not getting captured in Nagios XI while configuring it.

Please refer attached screenshot for details.

What is the output of these commands when you run them on the XI command line:

Code: Select all

/usr/bin/cfgmaker --show-op-down --noreversedns --zero-speed '100000000' '[email protected]:161::::2'
nmap 10.145.162.240 -p 161 -sU
to install nmap you can run:

Code: Select all

yum -y install nmap

It looks like the port is open but the XI machine isn't getting a response. Can you tell me more about what the device is that you are scanning?

Make sure that SNMP is configured on the device correctly. https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/i ... pport.html may help but I would try to find documentation specific to your device.
