NLS log file forwarding
Re: NLS log file forwarding
I guess the original question remains... How does Nagios recommend forwarding log files with wildcards in the name on RHEL 6.x?
Re: NLS log file forwarding
Per https://www.rsyslog.com/doc/v8-stable/c ... #wildcards wildcards are supported starting in rsyslog 8.25. It doesn't appear that a newer package is available for RHEL 6.x and Red Hat recommends moving to RHEL 7 - https://access.redhat.com/solutions/434063. Migrating the OS isn't always feasible so in that case I would recommend a source install of a newer rsyslog with wildcard support.
As of May 25th, 2018, all communications with Nagios Enterprises and its employees are covered under our new Privacy Policy.
Re: NLS log file forwarding
Ah, somehow I got the idea that wildcards were ok in filenames, but not paths, which is incorrect. I'll keep using multiple filenames until I can get a newer version.
Thanks
Thanks
