SSH Backup issue

Post by vignesha »

Hello Team,

We have enabled SSH backup on one of our Nagios XI server, but it is taking 3:30 hrs and above to complete whole backup. Once but backup completed file size will be around 5.5 GB and above.

Currently we have 600+ host and 7200+ services are getting monitored in nagios XI.

Whenever we like to perform any activity on PROD server, manually will taking fresh backup of nagios xi and will restore in DR. So we are struggling much on this area. We looking for your help to resolve this issue.

Let me know, if any details required from my end.

Thanks,
Vigneshwar

Hi vignesha,

Are you able to download the backup, and see exactly what is taking up the most space? My guess is that it's the databases (in the mysql directory in the backup), or the performance data (in the nagiosxi.tar.gz file in the backup). If it's the databases taking up most of the space, we may be able to bring that size down by changing some of the settings in Admin -> System Config -> Performance Settings. If it's the perfdata, we may have to do some deeper digging.
