Backup monitoring

Post by RIDS_I2MP »

Hello Team,

We want to monitor backup job status and backup age using Nagios XI. We are using Commvault and Acronis for taking backup of our servers.
Could you please help us on the same?
Thanks & Regards,
I2MP Team.

If you are using NSClient++ as an agent, you could use the following plugin from the Exchange.
Acronis Backup and Recovery Backup Status Checker

You could also use a more general approach and treat the backup as you would any other custom service, file monitoring, or use an alerting method native to Commvault like SNMP.
Monitoring Custom Services
File Age Check
Commvault Alerts

Hello,

We are using NCPA agent. Please let me know if we can achieve the required monitoring using any configuration wizards available in Nagios XI.
Thanks & Regards,
I2MP Team.

Yes, you should be able to use the SNMP Wizard after you have enabled SNMP on Nutanix.

You could use NCPA if you wish, but I found several sources where Nutanix themselves recommend monitoring their product with SNMP.
