update

The problem seem to be when we put in Scheduled Downtime.
As soon as I put some Host with their Services in Scheduled Downtime, the mysqld process jump high on CPU utilization. And all force check in the console does not seem to work.

Maybe that can help to get a fix

Thanks for the data. I'll look into it and for the meantime I would suggest reverting the ndo setup. Follow the steps in https://support.nagios.com/forum/viewto ... 16&t=59126 to do so.

If I revert it, does I will have to place it back before doing the next update to 5.7.3?
Can revert it cause any issues elsewhere?

We've made the suggestion in a few cases lately due to issues with 5.7.x and I'm not aware of any new problems arising from reverting. That said, if this is a virtual then I'd recommend taking a snapshot. Also, as a general practice, before any upgrade or big change I would recommend a backup. The backup can be done by running:

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagiosxi/scripts/backup_xi.sh
I would hold off on any upgrades for now and we'll provide next steps to upgrade if needed.

With my test Nagios, I'm trying your procedure to revert ndo to 5.6 but I'm getting this error at the end:
NOTE: If prompted, enter the MySQL root password
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
root@plgesmon03[/tmp/nagiosxi/subcomponents/ndoutils]#

Is it ok to continue and change the config file to use it?

My error was related to the bad db_pass in /usr/local/nagios/etc/ndo2db.cfg

I did rollback ndo it in my test environment and since it was looking good, I did it al well into my prod environment. And for now, it's looking good. I'm continue my test and I will closely monitor the behavior.

Hi,

We've made a number of fixes in 5.7.3 to help resolve the pending check issues you were seeing. If you have a test server deployed in your environment, I would recommend upgrading that first and then the production system or take VM snapshot before proceeding.

Upgrading Nagios XI

Backing Up And Restoring Your Nagios XI System

The full changelog for 5.7.3 is posted on our website.

I just did the upgrade.
No error during the upgrade.
But it's look like I have the same behivor that I have before reverting NDO in 5.7.2!
Not impressed!

Do I need to revert again NDO?!!

Note
I did test before, but my test environment is much much more smaller then my prod. So the problem cannot be seen in my test environment.
