Unwanted session from 1 probe after restart

Post by tarun »

HI Team,

We recently encountered one problem, where we are getting lakhs of unwanted session from one of probe.
If i talking about configuration which was allowing to generate traffic beyond server capacity to handle , on probe . check limit was 100000 was reduced to 10000.

[root@chennaiprob ~]# vi /etc/mod_gearman2/worker.conf

# Controls the amount of jobs a worker will do before he exits
# Use this to control how fast the amount of workers will go down
# after high load times
max-jobs=10000

This configuration we have from last 3.5 hours. We not faced this problem earlier. But yesterday due to power issue at local site, our server also be restarted. And after which we are facing several Mod_german related error which is further associated to many hostgroup and host.
I need you to please analyse current issue and suggest on better way for root cause.

Thanks and Regards

The problem isn't entirely clear to me, but issues can arise if the proper stop/start order isn't' followed. Check out page 10 of https://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nag ... ios_XI.pdf for the order of stopping nagios, gearman service, and worker. Please let us know if this helps resolve the issue and please provide more details including screenshots and the output of the gearman_top command if further help is needed.
