For all support requests, we need to know:
[root@*********************]# cat /etc/os-release
NAME="CentOS Linux"
VERSION="7 (Core)"
ID="centos"
ID_LIKE="rhel fedora"
.....
[root@***********************]# uname -r
3.10.0-1127.13.1.el7.x86_64
esxi vm image used.
ssl is in use, no other special conditions exist that I'm aware of.
I have configured the system to use SMTP to send messages through ms 365 and can confirm it functions for my (admin) account.
I have configured contacts while configuring hosts and services within contact groups, verifying the contacts themselves, and while I do see that the alerts are sending from Home-->Incident Management-->Notifications, the specified users do not see the e-mails.
Following through the guide found --> https://support.nagios.com/kb/article/n ... ms-36.html provided some information. I was able to confirm that all this information is correct.
I am as well anticipating an onboard session this week but have not seen confirmation of this.
Sincerely,
Christopher Thompson

Re: Contact messages not sent
You mention configuring contacts, but are they XI users too? Only XI users use the SMTP settings you specify in the Admin section

Re: Contact messages not sent
I did not realize that contacts could not recieved notification as the configuration asks for the contact information or group. I am done for today but will review tomorrow and update this forum. Thank you for the feedback

Re: Contact messages not sent
Sounds good. They can receive notifications, but they must use different notification handlers (often using postfix) because they are not hooked into the XI notification system.christopher.thompson wrote:I did not realize that contacts could not recieved notification as the configuration asks for the contact information or group.
