High CPU Loads after 3.2 update

It's been been a little over a day since upgrading our nagios instance from 2.1 to 3.2 and we're seeing some very high cpu loads. I have tried modifying the /etc/sysctl.conf to the suggested values from this link http://support.nagios.com/wiki/index.ph ... her_Issues
but we're still seeing the extreme loads. Ideas?

Are you seeing any errors in the syslog?
