trying to delete acknowledgement throws an error

Post by murdock »

Hi,

When I click on the red X to delete an acknowledgement, I get a message "Command could not be processed" (see attached screen capture).

The error doesn't link to any details, I can't find the error in any log, I haven't been able to find any articles in the KB that talks about it.

Any idea how I can fix or work around this issue, or at least find out more info about it?

System profile also attached.

What user are you logged into Nagios XI with? Can you log into core with that user?

If you replace /nagiosxi/ with /nagios/ in the web browser it'll bring up a core login.

I am logging in with my administrative account, su-murdock.

Yes, I can log in to Core with that account.

I searched and found the service I took the screen cap of; deleting it there worked. Interesting; I never would have thought to check there.

Is there a reason why it wouldn't delete in XI?

I think it's likely a database error, e.g. a record tied to the comment that isn't set to cascade-delete when deleting the comment. Did you make any manual database schema changes since your install?

Also, it seems like your version of Nagios is a bit outdated. Have you considered updating? It might fix some of these issues going forward.
