Hi,

version NagiosXI 5.7.5 with nrpe does not work yet.
NCPA yes.

Updated from working version 5.7.1 to 5.7.5 and the problem is half solved.

[nagios @ localhost ~] $ / usr / local / nagios / libexec / check_nrpe -2 -H xxxx -t 30 -c check_memory -a type = physical "warn = used> 90%" "crit = used> 95%" show -all
Failed to validate filter see log for details: Warning expression is not valid: used \> 90%

So for all checks nrpe.
NCPA works.
I cannot migrate all services / agents to NCPA

Last time, in order not to block the customer, I did a version downgrade, wasting a lot of time.
Did you try the version before putting it into production?

Hi Tony,

As mentioned 5.7.5, was mainly a security release, we try to get those out as quickly as possible if any CVE's or other security issues have come to our attention.

A bug report is out on these issues with Run Check Command from the CCM. The current workaround is to test from the CLI and we'll be adding an extra notification in the GUI to address this.

NCPA is our agent while NSCLient a 3rd party program and that's why you seeing the discrepancy there.

Best Regards,
Benjamin

Hi,
I still have the same problem with NRPE and version 5.7.5.
Now I am in trouble, because I have to go back to version 5.7.1 as I control several clients with NRPE and I would have to update all to NCPA and many other things.
It does not seem good behavior to me, to update the release and not to support NRPE problems that are not present up to version 5.7.1.

What has changed? Don't support NRPE anymore?
Because at this point the Nagios system does not support NRPE and if I do not want the checks from the WEB to do some tests, to check if the change or other works, I have to apply and check from the dashboard.

Are the operations that I will have to do?

The Nagios software is very good, but such a cut does not seem good for me.

Hi,

I would recommend setting up a test server with 5.7.4, and then try moving that component over to the version running 5.6.14.

Your license allows for 3 activations, production, test, and backup.

How would you move that component over - I do not understand how you do this?

Hi Tony,

You would want to scp or use a program like Filezilla to copy the contents of the following directory to that other server.

Code: Select all

/usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components/bulkmodifications/

Hi,

Sorry but what has been changed from 5.7.1 to 5.7.5 for the CCM part? Why did nsclient / nrpe stop working?

I do not find information on your site, but it seems to me something not to be underestimated.
Migrating all clients from nsclient / nrpe to ncpa seems crazy to me. You lose the history, the graphs, etc.
I am very afraid of these changes and the resolution of the ncpa defect alone, referring to me that the nrpe is a third party product.

So is it official that you no longer support nrpe / nsclient since version 5.7.2? Or that in case of problems, they will not be solved.

Hi,

JO add this information on the changelog 5.7.5:

Fixed issue with command escaping in Test Check Command [TPS#15167] -JO

This information in only true with NCPA?
