Linux Client Deployment Failing With SSL Error

Post by boubacar »

Been having trouble deploying the NCPA client on an Ubuntu 18.04 host thru the Nagios XI web gui (Configure -> Deploy Agent). Failure message is "check_hostname needs a SSL context with either CERT_OPTIONAL or CERT_REQUIRED" but can't seem to figure out the root cause. Client was successfully deployed on similar hosts without any issues.

OS Version: Ubuntu 18.04
Python Version: Python 2.7.17
Nagios XI Version: 5.7.5
NCPA Version: 2.2.2

Any insight will be greatly appreciated.

HI @boubacar,

Welcome to the Nagios Customer Support Forum!

I just tested this on my 5.7.5 using the specs you provided and it did deploy successfully. The other servers that were successful, what OS were they running?

Let's see if we can get some more details from the job's output.

In the main Deploy Agent page, you'll find a link at the upper right titled View Past Auto Deploy Jobs, click on that link, find the job and post the output or save it a file and attach it to the thread for us to review. Thanks, Benjamin
