Nagios Core on ubuntu theme help.

Trying to install arana onto the nagios ubuntu server box here. I have extracted the files into 3 different locations that I feel SHOULD be the proper locations but aren't. The Nagios/arana documentation sucks because ubuntu doesn't install nagios into the default locations. I was sure I had the NEW locations figured out, but when I extracted the arana.zip there nothing happened. Has anyone had specific experience with this before?
