Nagios Event Log

Post by pepe2626 »

Hello everyone,

I have somme issues using one functionnality of Nagios XI. I want Nagios to show the event logs of my server (Application, System and Security log), but some entries are actually useless. I explain myself:

In the Security Event Log (for example), there is a Windows Event when someone fail to log in with his account. This event has a precise event ID. Is it possible to configure Nagios to filter this kind of event, and to keep only event that are really interesting?

I tried the Disable Notification function, but it apparently disable the whole service.

Thanks you very much for your answers!

pepe2626,

What method are you using to monitor the event log?

If your using NSClient++, here is a page that shows how to notify for a specific event ID:

http://nsclient.org/nscp/wiki/CheckEven ... k_eventlog
