Hi Amit_Alone,
So, based on your last reply, seems like things are looking OK with disk space and DB.

Are your system up and working now? .... Can I lock/close this post/ticket?

Hi Vinh,

That's what my concern, if all the things are looking ok then why I'm unable to start the Nagios service. Also I'm not observing any error.

If there is no more solution present at your end for resolving the raise issue then I will move to open a live ticket with Support Center since this is aging for too long of this Nagios application being down and unable to start the Monitoring engine.

Thanks & Regards,
Amit

Hi Amit_Alone,
Did you do these steps?

Code: Select all

Nagios XI GUI > Configure > Core Configure Manager > Hosts
Now, select the red "X" belong to "1832.PTACONNECT.COM" to "delete" that host.
Now click "Apply Configuration"

You also must remove those two services which belong to "1832.PTACONNECT.COM" as well:

Nagios XI GUI > Configure > Core Configure Manager > Services
Now, select the red "X" belong to "1832.PTACONNECT.COM" services to "delete" those two services.
Now click "Apply Configuration"
I wish I know exactly what changed you guys did, that would help me out alot.

Did some one make any change to your system?
Did you make any changes to Nagios XI?

Knowing the history will help figure out things faster.

Could you try one more thing, restore from your last good snapshot.
Nagios XI GUI > Configure > Core Config Manager > Configuration Snapshots
Click "Restore" from a last GOOD snapshot.

Restart Nagios:
systemctl restart nagios

Please update screenshot of your restore and issues, if possible.

Also, please upload your latest "profile.zip"

If you're unable to generate the the profile through the web interface,
please try generating it from the command line by running these commands as root:

Code: Select all

rm -rf /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/components/profile*
/usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components/profile/getprofile.sh SUPPORT

Yes, I had already done this steps and after performing this steps, error was stop reflecting while starting the Nagios but engine was not starting.

Nope

Could you try one more thing, restore from your last good snapshot.
Nagios XI GUI > Configure > Core Config Manager > Configuration Snapshots
Click "Restore" from a last GOOD snapshot.
Restoring from the last snapshot is not going to work because last good snapshot is of today's date and from last one week Nagios engine is not starting. I have attach the screen shot for your reference.

Hi,
I think we are very close.
Since you have cleaned up everything, please upload the new "profile.zip" again.

First, I would like to "reboot" your Nagios XI's VM as I am thinking that something might have been hung.
On your Nagios XI command prompt, as "root" type:

Code: Select all

reboot
Wait a few minutes for system to boot up.
Once, system is back online, please try generating the profile.zip again, this time using the command line by running these commands as root:

Code: Select all

rm -rf /usr/local/nagiosxi/var/components/profile*
/usr/local/nagiosxi/html/includes/components/profile/getprofile.sh SUPPORT
Upload your new "profile.zip" here.

Hi Vinh,

I tried rebooting the Nagios XI VM with root user but still monitoring engine is not coming up.

So, I'm going to raise a support ticket to schedule the call as issue is been open for more than a week.

Thanks,
Amit
