Hi Team,
Require your assistance/guidance with the best and most effective way to upgrade our Nagios Xi Instance.
We do have a lot of custom config's/checks applied on our instance.
From researching this topic, various upgrade options are available however it is "highly recommended that we take a backup of our existing data, perform a fresh install with CentOS 7 and copy our previous data from an older version of CentOS", is this the only option available or would you be able to provide other recommendations?
Installed Version: 5.7.5
CentOS Release 6.9 (Final)
Kernel 2.6.32-696.3.1.el6.x86_64 on an x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Thanks
Branigan.

Hi,
We have a knowledgebase article that covers the migration process in-depth.

Yeah, that is the recommended option. Keep in mind that your Nagios XI license provides 3 separate activations, production, test, and backup. So if you have a number of customer plugins installed, I would setup a test server setup to help smooth the migration. You'll likely need to install additional perl/python packages on the new server to get all the plugins running as before. We do have a lot of custom config's/checks applied on our instance.
