Monitor Files and Folders on a Windows Server using NCPA

Post by rdurga »

Hello,

I want to setup monitoring of a Folder and it's contents. The monitoring will need to be detect if a file has been added or removed from the folder. The second type of monitoring will look to see if a file has been modified recently. I want to know if a user has updated a file and get alerted when it happens. The files are on a Windows server with the NCPA agent. What are your recommendations?

Thank you.

These are not immediately available in NCPA so you would need to find or create a script(plugin) do what you want and have NCPA run it.

Both can be tricky to script depending on exact needs, but something like https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/P ... s1/details can monitor the number of files in a directory as well as the size of a file.

This will help with integrating a plugin:
