Hi Team,
We are receiving some alerts from an application. We want to monitor those alerts in Nagios. Example: If we receive an alert with same "failed" message or status, Nagios should should critical for that.
We are receiving alerts from MIM application which gives us status of multiple user related requests. Sometimes, the alerts contain failed messages like "New user Creation failed. Generated User name ali.chraif already exists or account name is greater than 19 characters. Please use MIM Portal to create user manually.".
For the failed alerts from MIM, we want Nagios as well to send alert and show the status in critical.
Can we do the same in nagios XI?
We are using Nagios XI 5.8.1 version.

Hi kalyanpabolu,
There a few community plugins out there that will check email messages but I haven't tested them yet. What email service are you using?
Nagiso Exchange

Re: Email alerts monitoring in Nagios XI
Hi,
Are you currently monitoring this application in Nagios XI? Is so, what plugin are you using to do this?
Since you are using Office 365, one possibility is to create incoming rules to forward these messages to XI and monitor those folders.

Hello,
We are not monitoring this application in Nagios XI.
Could you please help us to understand how to create incoming rules to forward these messages to XI and monitor those folders?

Re: Email alerts monitoring in Nagios XI
Hi @kalyanpabolu,
Currently, Nagios XI does have this type of capability built-in as a feature. There's no current feature to change the status of the host or services based on email messages coming into Office 365.
We do try to suggest options and possible solutions there's but this getting out of scope for technical support as it will require customizations and configuration of Office 365.
