Bulk Modification Tool is deleting arguments

Post by andyb4u »

Hi,

I have recently upgraded a test XI instance to 5.8.1.

I've just noticed that the Bulk Modification Tool > Change Commands and Arguments is deleting arguments on services even when I have unchecked the arguments toggle.

Bulk Modification Tool component is version 2.3.0.

I am also seeing the same issue on the XI 5.8.0 OVA I had previously downloaded from Nagios as well.

Is there a bug with the component?

I'm able to replicate this, investigating further and will update shortly.

EDIT: This is a bug, I've submitted it to development so they can fix it:

NEW TASK ID 15458 created - Nagios XI Bug Report: XI - Bulk Modifications Tool - Change Command and Arguments - Untoggling args still blanks them out on both hosts/services, arg8 always blanked out no matter what you set

Hi,

I see this has been fixed in 5.8.2.

We had updated our systems to 5.8.1 before this was released.

My manager isn't keen to upgrade XI so soon after we upgraded to 5.8.1.

Is there a way to install the bulk modifications component from 5.8.2 on our 5.8.1 system?

You can take this one (from 5.8.2) and upload it in Admin > Manage Components on your 5.8.1 system.
