Yes, I wouldnt mind scaling logging/auditing back moreso from the DB if thats possible. Let me know if theres any more recommendations

No other recommendations at this time as the lag seems to be in your case entirely on the database side of things.
If you didn't get an 8% raise over the course of the pandemic, you took a pay cut.
