Re: Information details in the email notification
Hi,
Let's take a look at the notification template the system is using for this contact, it may not have a notification variable in that location. For example, here's the standard template on XI. What is listed next to Information:?
Some good information in the following guide on customizing these messages.

Regards,
Benjamin

Hi @mejokj,
If you are using the SMTP notification handlers (phpmailer) then it can be configured to use those templates for the contacts as well.
For instructions on how to set the notification handlers on the Core contact, please see the following guide.
Configuring Core Contacts to Use Nagios XI PHPMailer SMTP Settings
Let us know if you're able to get it working.

Re: Information details in the email notification
Hi,
I'd like to get a profile and the exact name of this contact to review how it's set up. There's a difference in functionality between 'users' and 'contacts' in Nagios XI.'
The contacts are part of the monitoring engine, Nagios Core, and users are part of the GUI/XI application.
We have a guide for configuring Core Contact to use the PHPmailer library (SMTP), and after testing this further, those commands do not work with the notification templates. The notification commands would need to be edited to include/modify the email.
This is shown on page 3 of the following guide.
Nagios XI Configuring Core Contacts to Use Nagios XI PHPMailer SMTP Settings
To send us your system profile.
Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
Click the "Download Profile" button

Re: Information details in the email notification
Hi,
Thank you for the profile. The contact is using the following notification handlers,
For the notification template on the user account, go to Admin > Users > Notification Management. You can use the Deploy to Users tab to make sure the account has the proper notification template assigned.
For detailed instructions on this step, see: Nagios XI How to Configure Email And Text Notifications
Otherwise, if the contact does not have a user account, then I would recommend setting that up for this email, then you will be able to manage the notification variables using the templates.
Regards,
Benjamin

If the contact is getting emails, then they are likely set up as user account as well. Can you verify this? Go to Admin > Users > Manage Usersservice_notification_commands xi_service_notification_handler
host_notification_commands xi_host_notification_handle
