SNMPv3 Port Status = Unknown - No info is being retrieved

Post by ar0431 »

After the reboot of the switches, all the port status = Unknown and port bandwidth status = ok but bandwidth in and out showing 0GB. Anyone know how to handle this issue?

Following command for the port status.
check_xi_service_ifoperstatusnag!56!-v3 -u '---' -A '---' -x 'AES' -X '---' -a 'SHA' -l '---'

Following command for the port bandwidth.
check_xi_service_mrtgtraf!10.150.150.1_56.rrd!20.00,20.00!32.00,32.00!G

HI,

Is it possible that the SNMP v3 credentials on the device got reset as part of the reboot?

You can use the 'Configure', 'Configuration Wizards', 'SNMP - Walk' to verify:
1. connectivity
2. credentials
3. data based on the OIDs of interest

If the above doesn't shed any light on things please send me a System Profile.

To send us your system profile.
1. Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
2. Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
3. Click the "Download Profile" button
4. Save the profile.zip file and share this in a private message and then reply to this post to bring it up in the queue.

Thanks

Sorry, I missed your reply. I ran the snmpwalk command from nagios manually. And we found that our network admin did not save the credentials on the switches. So we just reset the credentials on switches and now it works.
But we have some other issue for that I think I should create a new ticket. For now we can close this one.
Thank you for your help.
