how many hostsgroups can be connected to a service

Hi,

We are looking into servicedependencies, and tried to configure a "master" service for all hostgroups containing snmp checks. However when we add more the 941 hostgroups to this service, the apply config failed.
Is there a limit in how many hostgroups can be connected to a service?

Hi,

There are definitely resource limits, but no hard and fast
numbers like XXX number of hostgroups or XXX number of
services. Please send me a System Profile and I will try to
see what's going on.

To send us your system profile.
1. Login to the Nagios XI GUI using a web browser.
2. Click the "Admin" > "System Profile" Menu
3. Click the "Download Profile" button
4. Save the profile.zip file and share this in a private message and then reply to this post to bring it up in the queue.

You may be running into php limitations.

Thanks we indeed ran into the a php limitation. We increased the max_input_vars and don't have this problem anymore.
