MariaDB offline upgrade

Post by rexmundo »

Hi

Just a couple of questions:

1) When doing an offline Nagios upgrade, how do you also upgrade MariaDB if it is hosted on a separate server?

2) Does template inheritance with regards to contacts works be replacing the contact set at template level with the ones set at template level? or are the template level contacts and object level contacts added together?

Hi George,
How are you doing?

May I ask what version of Mariadb are you planning to upgrade to?

I checked with our development team and looks like we have not test MariaDB 10.x yet.
Just to clarify that - we don't have any distros running MariaDB 10 by default. Things will probably work most of the time, but we haven't tested it. If a customer is using it and has problems, we'll recommend a downgrade to mariadb 5.x (or whatever their distribution uses by default)
We do not support any custom update of Mariadb, it is up to your OS.
I also looked inside our "offline package" and did not see any RPM package for MariaDB.

As to inheritance, I found the below forum ticket which might give you more info:
