Re: contact vs user
Hi,
Helping Vinh out on this support case. So the main difference between the two is that uses have access to the XI GUI. A contact is simply just an object in Nagios Core for sending notifications.
When you create the Contact in the CCM, make sure you have selected the proper notification handlers. If you assigned the XI generic template, those should get inherited.
Please send me the system profile along with the exact name of the contact and I'll take a look at the configurations for you. Thanks, Benjamin

Hi,
How are you doing?
You did not give me the contact name, so not sure which one you defined.
Anyway, here's an example of how to create a contact called "contact1" ... please see sample pictures below.
Please remember to click the "Add user" button at the bottom.
Hope this helps!!
Best Regards,
Vinh

Re: contact vs user
Hi,
Please try remove (delete) user "NAubert", then re-create a new user with the same name .... as showed in my last replied second screenshot.
Please remember to check the following boxes for:
"Create as Monitoring Contact",
"Enable Notifications" and
"Account Enabled"
That's how you create a contact only user.
Yes, it looks like you create a user, but it's NOT ... since you do not give that user any permission as seen on the second screenshot in my last replied.
Best Regards,
Vinh

Re: contact vs user
ok we can try it. but I'm still confused.
I have another "email only" AK Tos Support and that seems to be working
and I definetly didn't create a user AK Tos SUpport.
