ncpa agent ncpa-2.1.1.aix6.1.ppc.rpm installation on AIX6.1

Post by mejokj »

Hi Team,

We have a plan to install ncpa agent ncpa-2.1.1.aix6.1.ppc.rpm for AIX 6.1 and ncpa-2.1.1.el6.x86_64.rpm for rhel6.

Steps
=====

rpm -ivh ncpa-2.1.1.aix6.1.ppc.rpm
Edit the configuration file with token and allowed host IP.
start the ncpa service.

Will the above step works as we need to do it in a production environment in AIX 6.1 and RHEL 6.4 and no test environment available?

Any known bug or known issues using the same NCPA agent and any other packages/Perl modules is required for doing the installation?

Please advise

Thanks

Hi,

Thank you for contacting the support team at Nagios.

I don't have access to an AIX 6.1 test system so I cannot say with certainty, but that would be the right version to install. I did find a record of the installation working after a few changes.

See: NCPA error on AIX 6.1

We do have a native c agent that you can compile on AIX and that requires fewer dependencies.
