CPU load monitor for linux servers

Post by preethu.d »

Hi Team,

Is it possible to monitor CPU load of linux servers which are added in Nagios vis NCPA ?
If yes, please let me know how this can be configured.

Hi

Yes, by default ncpa can do this. I have attached a video
ncpa_wiz.zip

showing you the steps in the NCPA Config Wizard on the Nagios XI server.

What you don't see in the video is the install and configuration of the ncpa agent
on the remote machine. That is documented here:https://www.nagios.org/ncpa/getting-started.php

Please let me know how you make out.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the details.
I can see this link is for monitoring CPU utilization, my requirement is for monitoring CPU load. I have seen an argument in Nagios (attached the screenshot). Can I use this for cpu load monitoring ?

Hi

Yes you should be able to. You can use ncpa on the Nagios server,
on the machines you want to monitor install ncpa
and then install the check_load plugin on them under /usr/local/ncpa/plugins.

This NCPA homepage(https://www.nagios.org/ncpa/) is a great
resource - it has links to downloading ncpa, downloading ncpa agents, and
a lot of documentation.

Thanks
