VMware vSphere™ SDK for Perl V5.1 support

We are currently running with V4.0. Since we are migrating to VC 5 we are also considering upgrading the VMware vSphere™ SDK for Perl to V5.1
Any support issues?
It this needed/recommended?

There are some known problems with 5.1 (especially getting it installed) and as far as I am aware you do not get much of a benefit.

We are monitoring our VC 5 servers just fine with the 4.0 SDK.
