Hello Team ,
I have a question regarding the supported agent software. On the db server we have now installed the NCPA while the other hosts are monitored still with the NRPE (Nagios Remote Plugin Executor). Would it make sense that we switch every monitored host to NCPA ?
Or its fine if we continue use nrpe ?? Please suggest on this as what needs to be done .
Is Replacement of nrpe with ncpa is required

Re: Is Replacement of nrpe with ncpa is required
Hello wipro-nagios-service,
While NPRE is still in common use we are recommending migration to NCPA when practical. As of version 4.0.1 we've stopped developing and maintaining NPRE, with the exception of security fixes, to focus development efforts on NCPA.
Here's a link to the Readme for NPRE:
https://github.com/NagiosEnterprises/nrpe#readme
Eventually we will phase out all support of NPRE but for now we are recommending customers move over to NCPA since it's more portable, less problem prone and the agent that will be supported moving forward.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Keith
