Nagios Core Compilation on AIX

Post by jherna3 »

Does anyone have any instructions for compiling the source code on AIX 5.3 and/or AIX6.1? Do any binaries exist for running Nagios Core on AIX or is this strictly Linux?

It's possible you could get it running on AIX with a lot of muscle behind it, but it's primarily built for Linux, so unless you absolutely need it to run on AIX I would suggest installing it on a Linux distro.

I have valid licensing for AIX, but none for Linux.

For installing Fedora, Ubuntu, Opensuse or Centos Linux, you don't need to have a license, they are free Linux distributions. Nagios Core works perfectly on those distributions. If you need help for installing Nagios Core on Linux, check this link http://nagios.sourceforge.net/docs/3_0/quickstart.html
