I am looking to see if there is a way to reset the Database to a new-install state? I have encountered issues with removing objects that were installed, and prior to doing a full re-install of the XI packages, wanted to see if there was a quick way to reset the database to the new-installation state.
Thanks in advance!
Reset the DB
Re: Reset the DB
We wrote a script to do this a while back, but it ended up being buggy and problematic. There will be a DB rollback feature in our 2012 release, but in the meantime, the best way would be as follows:
Log into the Core Config Manager, and access the Config Manager Admin->Config Manager Settings, and increase your result limit to a larger number so that you can "check all" results for your hosts and services. Then just go through and delete your unwanted objects, I'd start with deleting groups, then services, then hosts. You may have to make more than one pass at each because of dependent relationships. It's not a very elegant solution, but usually it only takes a couple of minutes.

Re: Reset the DB
Thanks Mike- It took some time, but it seems to be working now.
I have another issue on the way, but I will spawn a new topic- I'm hoping it did not come as a result of my DB manipulation!
