Ghost Services

Post by CameronWP »

Hi:

We recently updated to version 5.11.1 and have found that we now have some ghost services. The appear in the GUI but can't be found in the CCM. We ran the database repair script but the issue has remained. Is there somewhere else I can check to rectify the issue?

1) Linux version is Rocky 8
2) 64-bit
3) Manual Installation
4) There are no special configurations on the system.

Thanks!

Hi:

Something is definitely broken with our Nagios installation. Changes made in CCM don't seem to get reflected after applying the changes.

Thanks

Hello and thank you for your post on the forum. Please rewrite the ccm config - Try reapplying the configuration by going to Configure > Core Tools > Config File Management, and click:
-Delete Files
-Write Configs
-Verify Files
-Restart Nagios Core

To ensure that all our software is fully tested and runs properly, Nagios will support current Nagios software running on these pre-defined set of platforms: RHEL, CentOS Stream, Debian, and Ubuntu. Our installation, upgrade and maintenance scripts take all these OSs into account.

While our software may complete installation and run on unsupported OS distributions, Nagios Support cannot guarantee the functionality nor security of Nagios product installations and upgrades running on unsupported operating systems. As such, Nagios will only support installations on the platforms defined above.

Delete Files and Write Config both worked successfully without any errors. When clicking verify files we get the following output:

Things look okay - No serious problems were detected during the pre-flight check

We then restarted Nagios core config and then Applied the configuration and it seems we get the same result with the ghost services which are not showing up in CCM.

Note that Nagios doesn't support Rocky Linux.

From https://support.nagios.com/kb/article.php?id=14:
Nagios XI is currently supported with the following Linux distributions for 64 bit installations only:

RHEL 7/8/9
CentOS 7
CentOS Stream 8/9
Oracle Linux 7/8
Debian 10/11
Ubuntu 18/20/22 (LTS)
If you insist on continuing to use Rocky Linux and not transferring your data to a supported OS, you can compare the differences between the nagios and nagiosql databases to check for the differences in services.

Hello,

It's evident that there's an issue with our Nagios setup. Alterations carried out in CCM aren't appearing as expected following the implementation of these changes. https://apkhexo.com/beautyplus-mod-apk/
