NagVis Error

Post by nagiosminn »

Hello Nagios community! I have just recently started working with Nagios XI, and I'm experiencing some problems with NagVis. I was able to access it until abouth a month ago, actually, I had started working on some maps for my server room. Then, all of a sudden, I started getting this error upon opening it from the Home panel:

Error: (0) Trying to access array offset on value of type bool
URL: /nagvis/frontend/nagvis-js/index.php
File: /usr/local/nagvis/share/server/core/classes/CoreAuthModPDO.php
Line: 95
#0 /usr/local/nagvis/share/server/core/classes/CoreAuthModPDO.php(95): nagvisExceptionErrorHandler()
#1 /usr/local/nagvis/share/server/core/classes/CoreAuthModPDO.php(197): CoreAuthModPDO->checkUserAuth()
#2 /usr/local/nagvis/share/server/core/classes/CoreAuthHandler.php(161): CoreAuthModPDO->isAuthenticated()
#3 /usr/local/nagvis/share/server/core/classes/CoreLogonDialogHandler.php(40): CoreAuthHandler->isAuthenticated()
#4 /usr/local/nagvis/share/server/core/classes/CoreLogonMixed.php(36): CoreLogonDialogHandler->check()
#5 /usr/local/nagvis/share/server/core/functions/index.php(56): CoreLogonMixed->check()
#6 /usr/local/nagvis/share/frontend/nagvis-js/index.php(53): require('...')
#7 {main}

Unfortunately, I cannot go back to a previous snapshot since I procrastinated fixing the issue and continued adding hosts and services.

Would someone please be able to support me with this issue? I'm really not sure what to do here :oops:

P.s. I get the same error on both the regular and admin users.

Hey @nagiosminn

Do you recall what you were doing when Nagvis stopped working? Was it when you started adding maps to your Nagvis? Also what version of XI are you currently on and what distro are you running it on?

Hello! Yes, I believe I was adding maps when it stopped working. The version is 5.10.0 and the distro is CentOS 7.

Hi @nagiosminn,

From a cursory search of similar types of errors, it sounds like it's possible that this was caused by a recent update to the PHP version on your server. Is it possible this coincided with your updates around when this error started happening?

For more personalized, in-depth troubleshooting I would advise creating a Support Ticket. Our support technicians are more equipped to help with issues that are localized to your server. You can do that here: https://answerhub.nagios.com/support/s/

It could be! I'll check that, and if it won't help I'll contact support. Thank you so much!

Hi @orborneee - I took a look at the ticket. It's not fully completed, but it appears that the user was on XI 5.11.2, and the support engineer recommended an upgrade to version 5.11.3.
